After a series of false starts in the late 90’s, a failed attempt at college, and a brutally underpaid stint in the NYC music industry, I finally began tattooing in earnest in 2006. Taken in under the wing of Adam Paterson at Jersey City Tattoo Co. which was to become my anchor for the following 6 years I also did tandem stretches at various shops in NY/NJ including (but not limited to) Powerhouse Tattoo, Thicker Than Water, True Blue Tattoo, Electric Tattoo (in the origonal Bradley Beach location) and Three Kings in Brooklyn. It was this varied spectrum of experiences at different shops that allowed me to draw from the best (and to know and avoid the worst) elements of each when forming the basis for Allied Tattoo.

In terms of my own tattooing, while everything I do has its roots in the principles of American Traditional tattooing, my main focus has always been on versatility. Whether a Portrait, a Japanese motif, or an Eagle and anchor, I try to bring the foundational strengths of Traditional tattooing coupled with practiced drafstmanship and illustrative quality, all applied with an attention to technical mastery that I’m forever refining.
